FIMRC is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to its mission to provide access to medical care for underprivileged and medically underserved families around the world. We currently operate in nine different countries across the globe. Our masters practicum students work with us on a wide variety of projects, and we encourage them to visit our project sites in order to gain a better understanding of the communities which we aim to support and empower. We tailor student projects depending on the candidate, their particular skills, and our site needs at the time. Past projects have involved comparing clinic data against national data to assess the effectiveness of programs such as anemia prevention clubs, to measuring the success of innovative initiatives such as the micro health insurance program FIMRC implemented in El Salvador. Students can expect to work directly with clinic staff and the individuals from the communities that they are working in, helping to foster strong relationships and gain a better understanding of what grassroots, global healthcare looks like.
