Dr. Lorann Stallones, director of the Colorado School of Public Health at CSU, visited Ecuador in March to work with Dr. Fadya Orozco of Universidad San Francisco de Quito on public health faculty and student exchanges between the two institutions. The connection between the ColoradoSPH at CSU and Universidad San Francisco de Quito was originally established by Dr. Chris Melby, faculty lead of the Public Health Nutrition concentration, during a Fulbright fellowship in Ecuador.

In addition to conversations about the public health programs, Stallones presented a talk in one of Orozco’s classes about pesticides and mood disorders. She also explored the possibility of working with Orozco on research related to mental health and pesticide exposures among women who work in floriculture.
