2018 Culture of Data Conference

April 6, 2018 @ 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

The Culture of Data (CoD) conference brings together community members, academia, state/local government and nonprofit organizations that share a goal of achieving health equity.  Initiated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Minority Health (OMH) in 2002, Regional Minority Health Consultant Lorenzo Olivas led the collaboration for 11 years.  With conference themes such as the environment, healthcare, behavioral health and more, conference organizers sought always to respond to the emerging needs of the Colorado community, always to bring together those who wanted to collaborate to use data in the work to eliminate health disparities.

This year, the Colorado Public Health Association (CPHA) ushers in a new era for the Culture of Data conference as the primary fiduciary and project organizer. CPHA continues to stay true to the values and objectives of the conference as it remains community led and focused.

The purpose of the conference is to connect community with data, particularly the underserved, communities of color, and other marginalized groups who disproportionately face inequities.
